Connections Flash Game
Connections began life back in the 70's as a successful board game designed by Tom Macnamara. In the early 90's it was given the digital treatment and released as an MS-DOS game. The DOS version did not do very well however due to performance issues and poor graphics. With the advent of Flash, fast internet and powerful mobile devices it was felt that connections once again comes out of retirement. This is the result, a fully realised version of the board game, with all the added bonuses of current technology.
Connections as a game is deceptively complex - and converting it to a platform such as Flash would be very problematic if handled the wrong way. With over 50,000 possible moves and differing win-strategies the code can quickly get out of hand.
This wasn't a problem for Runeindustries though - the game remains accessible to children as well as posing a challenge to the most accomplished player, often exhibiting human like qualities and decision making.

I'm currently porting the Flash version to iPhone and Android phones as it is an ideal touch-screen game. I'll keep you posted as to it's progress. Oh yes, it's worth noting that although Runeindustries rarely do any graphical work (coding is much more preferable) I designed every scrap of this game, from choosing the music to rendering the 3d pieces and choosing the colours. I'm quite happy with the result, and so is Mr Macnamara!
