Economist Group Media website

The Economist wanted us to take five existing sites and seamlessly merge them with plenty of new content. Not a problem.

ScreenshotClient: Economist Group
Agency: Ad-rich
Role: Lead PHP/Flash developer. Dev team leader.

The Economist called on Ad rich to raise their online presence as the site was originally specced by a different agency who proved unable to implement their own design. So while  Ridgway Wilkes  worked on the making the design functional and usable (by rebuilding it from scratch) I handled the code and integration of existing content.

Worldwide dataThe Economist Group Media site is deceptive - it has a huge amount of content and is actually five sites in one, all seamlessly linked using the Concrete 5 CMS and a lot of custom code.

The site features the full worldwide distribution statistics database for the Economist, the rates for advertising in any of the Economists publications, "Ideas People" flash sub-site, news entries, product information, advertising information and the contact details for every Economist office on the planet. Of course, each of these elements were either written from scratch or extensively modified C5 components. All glued together using jQuery.
